Typography

Typography is a core component of AP's design system. Consistent use of our type scale and typographic patterns help create clear and intentional journeys through our products and experiences.

Eyebrow and headline

An eyebrow refers to smaller text set above a main headline. This text is typically reserved for product names or topics and labels and should be short, not a full sentence.

The ratio between the eyebrow size and headline should be ≈1.618 or at least two steps on the AP typescale.

Standard headline and subhead

Standard headlines are set in AP Sans bold uppercase and are paired with a subhead set in AP Serif sentence case. Use this type treatment for shorter headlines and avoid breaking the main header over more than two lines.
